"Elisabetta and her famiglia took great care of us. Wonderful, tasty Piemontese food. You can eat a la carte or from the set menu. Enjoy!"
"Very local restaurant. The food here is extremely tasty. They offer five appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, desserts, coffee and unlimited wine as a menu with the cost around 25 euro. This is one of the best offers in Turin. The stuff there are very personalized. I like them. If anyone wants to try local taste of Turin and enjoy wonderful dining atmosphere, Piola Da Celso is the best place."
"What a special place! We enjoyed every second of it. The food, the ambiance, the warm authentic service - a real gem. It’s so lucky this place hasn’t been rammed with tourists because it was full of locals who clearly want to keep coming back. The food was everything I wanted. The bagna cauda had so much depth, the variation on vitello tonnato was a winner, and omg the tajarin al ragu was pure happiness. It’s also incredibly well priced. We had about 5 small tasting appetizers, a pasta to share, an osso bucco to share, 2 desserts, wine and coffee — 47 euros total"
"Simply a wonderful place if you are looking for lokal Italian atmosphere and attitude. No fancy high class menu, but the best Piemonte dishes you will ever taste and all served with motherly love. ... PS: It was completely full on the Friday evening we went there, and people were standing at the front door waiting for a table to be free .... but luckily we had pre-booked a table by visiting the restaurant 2 h before opening. I suggest you do the same ..."
"Nestled in the charming streets of Turin, Piola Da Celso is a delightful family-run restaurant that embodies the essence of traditional Piedmontese cuisine. With a family-style menu for starters and first courses, the restaurant creates a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for sharing and experiencing the rich flavors of the region. Starting off with their starters, the Bagna Cauda is a must-try, and as Chef Elisabetta Chiantello recommends, it may very well be "the best bagna cauda you'll ever eat." This iconic Piedmontese dish is made from anchovies and garlic, served warm for dipping a variety of fresh vegetables. Just a fair warning: indulging in this savory delight may lead to some lingering garlic breath! Another standout starter is the classic Vitello Tonnato. This dish features thinly sliced veal smothered in a creamy tuna sauce, offering a delightful combination of savory and umami flavors. Its elegant presentation and unique taste make it an unforgettable introduction to the meal. As you move to the first courses, the menu includes the ever-popular Agnolotti with Roast Sauce. These tender pasta parcels filled with rich meat are served in a luxurious sauce that elevates them to new heights. Each bite is a comforting reminder of the region's culinary traditions, showcasing the chef’s skill and passion for authentic Piedmontese dishes. For the second course, the Arrosto di Lonz di Maiale is a highlight. This succulent roast pork dish boasts a perfect balance of tenderness and flavor, making it a satisfying centerpiece for your meal. The expert seasoning and slow roasting create an indulgent experience that reflects the rustic charm of traditional Piedmontese cooking. To conclude your dining experience, the Bunet offers a delightful sweet finish. This rich chocolate and caramel pudding is a beloved classic that delights the palate with its smooth texture and deep flavors, making it a perfect way to round off a fantastic meal. In summary, Piola Da Celso is beacon for Turin, offering an authentic taste of Piedmontese cuisine in a welcoming and familial setting. From the starters to the desserts, every dish is a celebration of tradition and flavor, inviting you to savor the rich culinary heritage of the region."
"Our last evening in Torino and it was the best. We didn’t have language issue as the youngest member of this team (it is a family run restaurant) helped us explain all those food options available tonight, in detail, including recommendations based on our dietary needs (one of us is vegetarian). Seating indoor and outdoor (in private backyard and not on the street) are very agreeable. Taste, reflective of quality and freshness was par excellence. Only one surprise (a pleasant one) was that besides all the good things about Piola Da Celso, the expense was way far below our expectations."
